The Department of Expenditure published a bi-annual compilation/updation of General Financial Rules, 2017 up to 31 January 2026 on 9 April 2026. Later 2026 amendments must be read on top of that consolidation.

The latest available JKPSC Civil Judge syllabus names General Financial Rules, 2017 as one of the seven Paper B components. Unlike the J&K Civil Service Regulations component, the syllabus does not state a restricted chapter range for GFR. Prepare from the current official GFR source and use PYQs to calibrate depth.

Current GFR text may use Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita terminology after amendment; check the operative version.

Authority confusion

Know which ministry/department/procuring entity/competent authority performs the act.

Amendment lag

A PYQ can test an older position. Label the year and update the present rule separately.
