Doon Law Mentor – Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using Doon Law Mentor (via doonlawmentor.com, our subdomains, academy.doonlawmentor.com, our iOS/Android apps, WhatsApp‑based communication, webinars, or related services), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions along with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Services
2. Definitions
For these Terms:“Doon Law Mentor” / “We” / “Us” / “Our”:
Doon Law Mentor, India’s Most Trusted Online Judiciary, APO & Law Coaching, providing online courses, test series, e‑books, and related edtech services.
“User” / “You” / “Student”:
Any individual accessing or using our Services, including students, aspirants, parents/guardians, or other visitors.
“Service(s)”:
All websites, apps, LMS, courses, test series, e‑books, webinars, live/recorded sessions, WhatsApp‑based learning, downloadable content, and support communications provided by Doon Law Mentor.
“Digital Product(s)
”:Instantly accessible products such as courses, e‑books, test‑series PDFs, practice‑quizzes, recorded notes, and similar digital‑only materials where access begins immediately upon successful payment
.“Course(s)”:Subscription‑based or one‑time‑payment learning programmes where access may be time‑bound and delivered via LMS, apps, or live classes.
“LMS”: Our Learning App at academy.doonlawmentor.com and associated apps.“Account”:Your registered profile on the LMS or other Doon Law Mentor platforms. Course will be accessible through our android and ios apps only. One device login is allowed at a time as a inapp privacy and security feature.
Any terms not defined here will have the meaning given under applicable Indian law, including the Indian Contract Act, 1872, Information Technology Act, 2000, and related rules.
3. Eligibility and Capacity to Contract
You represent and warrant that:
You are at least 18 years old.
You are competent to contract under Indian law (sound mind, not disqualified by law).
If you are a minor (below 18), you must have verifiable parental/guardian consent to use our Services.
If you use our Services without such consent, Doon Law Mentor may, at its discretion, suspend your Account or restrict access, and you/your guardian may have limited rights under these Terms.
4. Use of Our Services
You agree to use Doon Law Mentor only for lawful, educational, and exam‑preparation purposes and not for:
Cheating, mass‑sharing exam‑materials, or any activity that violates exam‑conduct rules.
Spamming, harassment, hate speech, or unlawful content‑sharing.
Reverse‑engineering, hacking, or bypassing access controls to our LMS, apps, or payment systems.Reselling, sharing, or redistributing digital products or course access without our written permission.
Violations may lead to immediate account termination, access blocked, and disciplinary/legal action where applicable.
5. Account Registration and Security
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an Account.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your Account.
Doon Law Mentor may suspend or terminate any Account if:
Fraud, misuse, or bulk‑account creation is detected.
You violate these Terms or the law.
Payment fails repeatedly or no valid payment method is provided.
We may also require identity verification (e.g., ID proof, photo) in some cases, in line with Indian‑law‑aligned practices.
7. Digital Products:
No Refunds for instantly accessible digital products.
Key terms:
Instant Access & Irreversibility:
Upon successful payment, access is granted immediately and the content may be opened instantly.Because of this instant and irreversible nature,
Digital Products are strictly non‑refundable once payment is confirmed and access is granted. Here, digital products includes recorded courses as well.
No‑Returns / No‑Replacements:
There is no right to return or replace a Digital Product after access has been given, unless you are entitled to such rights under mandatory Indian consumer‑protection law (which may be limited or unavailable for instant‑digital‑goods).
Transfer‑Policy:
Digital Products are non‑transferable between Users; you may not share or redistribute access or downloaded files beyond personal‑use rights expressly granted.
7. Courses:
Subscriptions, and Access:
Courses may be delivered as:
One‑time‑payment programmes
Subscription‑based programmes..
Key terms:
Billing & Renewal:
Subscription Fees are billed recurring at the chosen interval (monthly, yearly, etc.) and automatically renewed unless you or we cancel the subscription.
Changes to subscription pricing will be notified in advance (e.g., via email or within the LMS), and will apply from the next billing cycle.
48‑Hour Limited Refund Window (Online Live Courses Only):
For Courses, Doon Law Mentor offers a limited refund window of 48 hours from the time of enrolment/payment confirmation, subject to conditions:
No meaningful access has been taken (e.g., you have not watched significant video content, not taken any major tests, and not downloaded core course files).
If meaningful access has occurred, or if the 48‑hour window has lapsed, no refund will be processed.
This refund‑policy applies only to Live Courses and not to Digital Products (recorded courses, e‑books, test‑series PDFs , etc.), which are non‑refundable as per Section 6.
No‑Transfer / No‑Reuse:Course access is non‑transferable between Users unless explicitly permitted under a separate scheme (e.g., gift‑course on promotion).
Suspension / Termination by Us:If you violate these Terms, misuse our platform, or we detect fraud, Doon Law Mentor may suspend or terminate your access to a Course, with no refund of any fees already paid.
8. Payment, Cancellations, and Charge‑Backs
Payments are processed via Razorpay, Cashfree, or similar third‑party gateways.
You represent and warrant that:
You have legal right to use the chosen payment method.
The information provided (card, UPI, bank details) is accurate and complete.
Orders are considered confirmed only after payment is successfully captured and a confirmation email/communication is sent.
In case of failed, incomplete, or duplicate payments, Doon Law Mentor may:
Automatically cancel or modify the order, andIssue partial or full refunds at its discretion, subject to technical and gateway limitations.
Charge‑backs and Disputes:
If you initiate a charge‑back or dispute with your bank/payment provider, your access to the relevant Course or Digital Product may be immediately suspended or cancelled.
Once access is cancelled, no further entitlement to the Service will be recognised, even if the dispute is later resolved in your favour.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on Doon Law Mentor (including videos, notes, test‑series, e‑books, logos, branding, website‑design, LMS‑layout, and apps) is the exclusive intellectual property of Doon Law Mentor,or licensed partners.
You are granted a non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, limited license to use the content for your personal study and exam‑preparation only.
Unauthorized use (e.g., copying, recording, redistributing, uploading to third‑party platforms, or reselling) is strictly prohibited and may attract legal action.
10. Acceptable Use and User‑Generated Content
You may contribute to discussions, tests, or feedback submitted via the LMS, WhatsApp‑groups, or community‑type features.
Any such User‑Generated Content must not contain:
Exam‑leaks, cheating‑help, or attempt to compromise exam‑integrity.
Obscenity, hate speech, harassment, or unlawful content.
Infringement of third‑party rights.
Doon Law Mentor reserves the right to:
Moderate, edit, or remove User‑Generated Content that violates these Terms.
Suspend or terminate Accounts that repeatedly post such content.
11. LMS, Apps, and Technical Access
Access to Courses, Test Series will be available via our android/ios app only. While other Digital Products may be via: email (instant delivery) or our website doonlawmentor.com, academy.doonlawmentor.com (LMS)iOS / Android apps WhatsApp‑based delivery (where applicable)
Key points:
Access depends on:Your device, internet connection.
Doon Law Mentor cannot guarantee 100% uptime, perfect speed, or compatibility with every device or browser.
We may temporarily suspend, upgrade, or modify the LMS, apps, or backend systems for maintenance or security, with best‑effort notice.
No liability will apply for temporary outages, brief downtimes, or technical issues arising from third‑party systems (LMS hosting, app‑store, carrier networks, etc.)
12. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
Service “As‑Is” Statement:
Our Services are provided “as‑is” and “as‑available”.
We do not guarantee that:
Courses, webinars, or materials will ensure exam‑selection, rank, or government‑job outcome.
Content will be error‑free or always up‑to‑date (though we update for law‑changes such as Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, CPC, etc.).
Limitation of Liability:
To the extent permitted by Indian law, Doon Law Mentor, its founder, employees, partners, agents, and affiliates will not be liable for:
Indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages (e.g., loss of profits, business, opportunity, data, or reputation) arising from your use of our Services.
Direct damages (e.g., out‑of‑pocket loss directly linked to a specific incident) will be capped at the amount you paid for the relevant Course within the last 12 months, unless Indian law mandates a higher liability.
13. Data Protection and Privacy
Your personal data will be collected, used, stored, and shared in accordance with:
Our Privacy Policy (available at doonlawmentor.com/privacy-policy), and Indian‑law‑aligned data‑protection requirements (e.g., Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023‑style practices).
You acknowledge that:
Data may be processed by third‑party service providers (LMS, payment gateways, analytics, marketing tools, etc.) who act as data processors under our instructions.
You may exercise your data‑subject rights (access, correction, consent‑withdrawal, deletion, grievance) as per our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
14. Termination and Suspension
By You:
You may cancel Subscriptions at any time and no‑refunds for Digital Products.
By Us:
Doon Law Mentor may terminate or suspend any Account or Service access immediately and without notice if:
You violate these Terms, our Privacy Policy, or the law.
We detect fraud, misuse, or bulk‑account creation.
Upon termination, all access rights cease and no refund will be issued for any portion already used.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Doon Law Mentor, its founders, employees, partners, agents, and service providers from:
Any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
Your use of our Services,
Any User‑Generated Content you post or share,Y
our violation of these Terms, applicable law, or third‑party rights
16. Disputes, Governing Law, and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict‑of‑law principles.
In the event of any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of our Services, the exclusive jurisdiction of all such disputes shall lie with the courts of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update or modify these Terms from time to time.
The “Effective Date” at the top indicates when the latest version is in force.
We will notify Users of material changes through:
Prominent notices on our website and LMS, and/orEmails to registered email IDs.
Your continued use of the Services after the changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
